McKenzie Ryu is a Mixed Martial arts based system. It is a culmination of more than thirty years of training and research by Frank McKenzie. McKenzie Ryu combines elements of various arts including Ju-Jitsu, Kick Boxing, Fillipino Stick fighting, J.K.D and Keysi Fighting Method to present them as a part of an holistic and dynamic training system.
McKenzie Ryu has become a leader in developing effective, economic techniques and has no sporting applications.

Training approaches vary across different styles of martial arts. Certainly in my earlier days of training I trained hard and aggressively. Power, strength and speed were my tools. I find that with time and experience my approach to those same techniques has changed. Now I perform and teach them in a different way – maximising economy of movement and effectiveness with the use of good body mechanics.
There are no quick solutions. If you want to realise your potential, martial arts must be more than merely physical exercise – training the mind and body to be as one. Without which a Martial Artist cannot be complete.
The single and most important rule is to maintain a regular training regime. Think of it as being “Fit For Life”. Don’t be in a great hurry to achieve – it will come with time, patience and respect for what you do.
